I’m a big fan of making playlists when I write a book, so I’m always on the lookout for a variety of songs: angsty for black moments, sweet and sultry for sexy times, uplifting for redemption scenes. I came across “Her Mercy” by Glen Hansard recently and have had it on repeat ever since. It’s the perfect “hero realizes he’s had his head up his ass and the heroine is his counterpoint” song. (I’ve loved Glen Hansard for a long time, and his entire newest album [He Didn’t Ramble] doesn’t disappoint.)
